Cancer

You have made such a difference!
During this time that my life has been hijacked
By illness, surgery, chemotherapy.

You have stood there in the shadows waiting
Ready with a phone call, a visit, cards, flowers
Giving me a sense of hope and promise,
A strong light guiding me back to a safe mooring.

I have been making friends with my hijackers
Who are willing to release me
As soon as I can promise them
To take better care of all of us
As soon as I am restored.

Thank you
For staying connected with me
During this time of cancer.
