Fallout

Hair everywhere
Falling out like snow
or tufts of winter hay.
Falling on floor, bathtub, clothes.
Grey wisps..dark bundles..no let up.

My scalp is cold, sore and painful.
My hair is all falling out
Such is one side-effect
of chemotherapy.

Never mind!
May all my bad luck
fall out with it as I reach
for my lovely wig.
