Family Wedding

I have been remembering
Old scars and new wounds
Pitched forks and forked battles
Stone dead sequences of family wars.

Here comes the bride
Full of family pride.

Sadly chilling voices
Hard as crushed ice
Savage drilling faces
Fired and fixed in stone.

Here comes the bride
Dressed in family pride.

Violence vented in volcanic ash
Safe circle dented
Memories shredded, shunted
Hatred culled to fermenting rage.

Here comes the bride
Full of family pride.

Shook, shaken, hands taken.
Love spent. Fabric rent.
