Archive of poetry by Anne KellyHealingYou sit and weep For the lost, loved one Deaf to all your cries Blind to all your tears. She does not seem to care For all your pain. She has enough of her own And wants to be left alone. Why can't you trust her? Abandon your own longing For what can never be. There is too much misunderstanding. You sit and mourn For the lost, loved one Until I take pity on your sadness And offer you my hand. Let me take a drop Of your salt stained tears And leave it in a secret spot Where both of you may stumble on it As you make your way To a spring full of hope. And stay while the secret salt Does the silent work of healing. by Anne Kelly Archive index | Next poem » |
