Plant poem

Aspidistra!
Deep roots probe moist soil
Through long unchartered seams
Down earth's loamy yeast
Towards life.
Above, tender shoots climb,
Bud, seed, stem, leaf, flower
Aspidistra comes into power.

Oleander!
Tropical tree thrives
Oxygen for sun blended colours
Breathing, pulsing sap
Grounded in soil-enriched home
Roots reach down
Seeking sustenance within.

Aloe Vera!
Lover of desert places
Prickly source of healing balm
Compact, sturdy roots
Compressed with food and moisture
Survives in drought and dread
Cactus of proud green head.

Aspidistra, Oleander, Aloe Vera!
In me a plant grows
Pulsing for new space
And the oxygen of love
Near soil-enriched home.
