ANNE KELLY 1939-2003
Anne Kelly passed away on 17 May 2003 following a long battle with cancer. Anne's poetry was the original inspiration for this Web site and continues to rank among its most-viewed pages. As this Web site, and particularly this guestbook, was a source of both enjoyment and support for Anne over the past three years we intend to keep the original messages here. We will also publish any messages of condolences that family, friends and visitors wish to send.

Dear Anne, I will miss you. You have inspired me in life and in death. This is for you Anne.
Your friend Marian.
Immortality
Now I can touch the cloud dogs feel their shapes,
float with them over the seas,
I can chase the gulls play with them, gliding in the breeze.
I am part of those shadows that are there at night,
friends wuth the owl and the bat,
I paint beautiful pictures with powdery frost
and leave them stained on glass.
I feel the sun hot on my skin
hear the wind whisper my name.
I fall with the rain, melt with the snow
into the earth, home again.

And the great star early droop'd in the western sky in the night,

Lilac and star and bird twined with the chant of my soul, ..."

I have not sent a message since August 2001. Thank you to everyone who visits my site and to those of you who email me afterwards. You will have heard by now about my book, 'A New Tomorrow'. We had a wonderfully successful and enjoyable launch in Achill at Julie Hassett's restaurant,'The Chalet', Keel, on December 14th. after which I gave L'Arche Dublin a cheque for 1035 euros. Many thanks to all who contributed in any way and a happy new year 2003 to all.

I've not yet been to Achill, but plan a journey with friends and family of my dear passed friend Mary McGrath Darling. Born in Clondalkin, raised and lived in Ireland, studied at Trinity in Dublin, Mary became my friend in 1989 when both our families moved into houses across the street from eachother. Near Keen Bay, on Achill she spent many meaningful days with friends and famliy. We return to celebrate her life this summer, and mourn her loss but rejoice in having known her. These are her wishes, so I look forward to greeting Achill for Mary.
